Our Services

Our aim is to help the elderly, housebound, disabled and isolated members of our community.

No matter the season, there are people in our community who need a little bit of help to make their lives better.
Our services include

Transport

Volunteers help provide transport either driving their own car or our minibus. Volunteer escorts also assist with transport, both in cars and in the minibus. Training is provided for minibus drivers and escorts.
This service is very important because it provides transport for the elderly, people with special needs, children etc.

Call Line

Is a telephone call service where one of our volunteers calls a list of people, each morning Monday - Friday, for a chat and to check they are OK.
Many people are on their own in the home, and it can be very cheering to have a conversation with someone first thing in the morning.
This service has developed into a 'telephone befriending' rather than the original emergency contact service.

Befriending

People can have either group or one to one befriending.
Having a visit from a volunteer once a week, or coming in to our premises for a group get together, can improve the quality of life for people who cannot get out and about like they used to. For someone who is socially isolated this is very important.
